Common Foot Pain Remedies
There are many reasons that contribute to pain in the heel. Some of this includes walking and running that makes our feet to wear out as a result of ruptured tendons and ligaments. Tight fittings shoes, diseases and extreme pressure on our feet can greatly contribute to pain and foot stress. Foot pain can be so nagging and it can affect our day to day activities. For this reasons, it is important to learn some of the remedies that can help you ease the pain. Some of these methods include;
1. Massaging of the area with water
Water Massaging of the affected area with alteration of both cold and warm water can be a good way of eliminating foot pain. This process is ideal for any foot pain since it is simple as one only needs just two basins of hot and cold water. During massaging, the first process starts by soaking your affected foot in cold water for about five minutes. This will reduce the blood flow, swelling and inflammation. After five minutes, transfer the affected foot to a warm water basins for five minutes. This water should neither be cold nor lukewarm. During this time the blood flow will increase on the affected area and the pain will reduce. Return the foot to the cold water and repeat the procedure until the pain subsidizes. Once you are done dry your foot and massage it using a moisturizing lotion slowly but gently. The lotion facilitates massaging and brings a relieving effect to the muscles and tendons.
2. Ointments application
To relieve more pain from your feet it is important to use ointments that have been enriched with capsaicin. This ingredient helps in relieving the pain. At first during usage it is good to note that the ointment will produce a burning sensation but this disappears with frequent use and no side effects is seen. The ointments are available locally and it’s therefore important to communicate with your doctor before using them.
3. Use flat shoes
Avoiding high heeled shoes is another important remedy to foot pain. Use of flat shoes will allow you to uniformly distribute your weight throughout the feet and this will eliminate cases of break in pains.
4. Stretching your feet
Your calf need to be stretched. This can help to relieve heel pain. How is heel stretching done? First you need to stand three feet from the wall, lean and place one hand on it. With one leg forward and bending at the elbows place the heel of the back leg on the floor and gently stretch its calf muscles. For the same procedure do it for the remaining foot. This process allows muscles flexibility and ease the pain.
5. Obtain the right shoes
Consider the size and shape of your feet while purchasing the shoes. The shoes should be wider with enough room for muscles flexibility. The toes should be given enough space for equal distribution of pressure. Consider the curve of your arch and this will reduce collapsing of arch for example if you have high arch you need shoes that are highly curved.
